Color Correction is the process used to:
• Significantly alter color tone
• Color severely damaged hair
• Correct self-applied color
• Change the tone of previously treated hair (red to blond, blonde to brown, etc.)
• Correct the presence of two or more levels or shades on the hair shaft
• Remove dyes, including, but not limited to, home color, “natural dyes”, dark pigments, red pigments, etc.
• Correct color services performed using poor-quality products, techniques, or both.
If you require corrective color services, it often means that you have had previous color experiences that have significantly damaged your hair. It’s simply not possible to treat stressed, weakened, fragile hair, as if it’s virgin. The condition of your hair when you walk through our door often dictates where we start the color correction process. To set the correct expectations, it is important that you pay attention to the recommendations of your stylist and ask any questions that may arise during your initial consultation.
It is impossible for us to ask questions regarding every possible circumstance that could result in unsatisfactory results. As a Color Correction candidate, it is your responsibility to share any and all information related to previous hair treatments including, but not limited to, salon and home hair and scalp treatments, any chemicals or dyes used, medications and vitamin supplements you take (yes, it matters), if you have well water, if you’ve been swimming, or exposed to chlorine, used hennas, used temporary colors, suffered hair loss for any reason, or anything else that might possibly affect the outcome of your color.
Color Correction typically takes between 3 and 6 hours, but can take much longer, and may require multiple visits over time, especially for people with severely damaged hair. The cost of Color Correction Services is determined by the amount of work necessary to achieve the result you desire. We do not issue refunds for color corrections, and a cash, or credit-card deposit is required before the first service is initiated.
